NFC
Recently I came across NFC Technology.
It is a radio communication technique.
This is becoming prominent in Smart phone communication. It is better than Blue tooth communication since this consumes less power.
The range is very limited, so to communicate, the devices shall touch each other.
NFC can work basically in
Read/Write Mode
P2P Mode
Some of the applications using NFC are:
1. Transfer file between the devices
2. Play Music files from a device to a speaker enabled with NFC.
3. Applications that are environment aware. eg: In the car Google maps is automatically opened when Mobile is kept in the holder. When entering to a meeting room making the phone silent.
Below is a demo using Sony Xperia M.
The application used for Writing and reading NFC device is called Trigger. It is an Android Application https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jwsoft.nfcactionlauncher
The application can be used to configure what action can be run, when a NFC tag came in contact.
with.
eg: Opening a web URL, Setting alarm etc
